Computational Linguist - 12 month FTC

Job Summary
Computational Linguist at Busuu (12 month FTC) focusing on designing prompts for AI-powered language-learning features, evaluating and iterating prompts, implementing benchmarking for new languages and prompts, and expanding robust evaluation processes. You will work with Learning Designers and AI Engineers to shape pedagogical AI capabilities, tag content for new systems, and ensure quality across language processing and educational prompts. Required: Masters-level qualification in computational linguistics or related field; proficiency in English (C2) plus C1 in French, Spanish, or German; strong linguistics foundation; data-driven mindset; experience with AI in education and prompt-writing for large language models is a plus. Required Qualifications
- Masters-level qualification in computational linguistics, applied linguistics or cognitive science and/or natural language processing
- Proficiency (C1) in either French, Spanish or German
- CEFR proficiency framework and second language acquisition principles
- Deep understanding of language systems
- Data-driven mindset, using learner data to form hypothesis and make decisions
- C2 level in English required
- Solid knowledge in core linguistics subfields (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics)
