Compressor Station Operator

Job Summary
Operate and maintain compressor station engines and auxiliary equipment; troubleshoot and monitor natural gas equipment; perform routine maintenance (oil and water levels, temperatures), maintain logbook, enter data in CMMS (SAP), relay readings to Gas Control, patrol for leaks, assist with pipeline operations, and support emergency response on a 12-hour rotating night shift; must have a valid driver's license, and pass pre-employment medical with drug/alcohol testing; travel for temporary assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of mechanical maintenance experience
- One to two years of technical training or experience in the operation of natural gas pipeline systems
- Knowledge and experience in the use of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Industrial experience in a plant environments
- Ability to use a Windows computer and associated programs such as Microsoft Office
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcohol testing
- Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes
- Work a 12-hour, all nights, 2/2/3 rotating shift schedule
- Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
- Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditions
