Compressor Mechanic I

Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, routine mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, and overhauls on compressors, engines, and related components. Troubleshoot and diagnose recurring malfunctions, adjust valves to obtain specified performance, and operate power-driven pumps and controls to start equipment. Conduct daily inspections, read gas meters, take oil samples for laboratory analysis, and ensure field equipment meets current emissions guidelines. Submit parts under warranty, track core credits, and assist in unit disassembly and removal. Requires high school diploma, one year of related experience, valid driver's license, and availability for call-outs including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year related experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Valid Driver's License
- Available for call-outs (evenings/nights, weekends and holidays) as shifts require
- Ability and willingness to take direction from supervisors and senior team members
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with portable diagnostic tools
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Technical certification in automotive, lift truck, heavy equipment and/or diesel engine repair preferred
