Compressor Mechanic I

Job Summary

Perform preventative maintenance, routine mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, and overhauls on compressors, engines, and related components. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, adjust valves to obtain specified performance, and operate power-driven pumps to transfer liquids or gases. Conduct daily inspections of tools, read gas meters and instrumentation, take oil samples for laboratory analysis, and ensure field equipment meets current emissions guidelines. Submit warranty parts, track core credits, and assist in unit disassembly and removal. Available for call-outs including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as shifts require, with travel and overtime as needed. Requires a high school diploma, one year of related experience, and valid driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year related experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Available for call-outs (evenings/nights, weekends and holidays) as shifts require
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed/required
  • Ability and willingness to take direction from supervisors and senior team members
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat (non-weather)
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather); works in high, precarious places; exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold (non-weather); risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation; and vibrations
  • Noise level in work environment is usually loud

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with portable diagnostic tools
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
  • Technical certification in automotive, lift truck, heavy equipment and/or diesel engine repair preferred
