Job Summary
The Deputy Design Manager for Compression Systems Advanced Engine Programs (AEP) will lead the design team under the Associate Director. Responsibilities include overseeing design tasks, managing task assignments, integrating teams across disciplines for program execution, and ensuring the completion of outsourced work. Candidates should have experience with compressor parts in commercial and military applications, strong leadership abilities, and problem-solving skills. The role includes coaching junior engineers and supporting multi-discipline teams to meet design requirements for performance, cost, and durability.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 10+ years engineering experience OR Advanced degree with 7+ years of experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience in planning and executing engineering tasks
- Experience with gas turbine components – with emphasis on compressors
- Previous team leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop staff
- Experience in Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or MBA
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
- Capability to work and lead in collaboration with other non-collocated teams
- Strong analytical, problem solving and trending skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
