Job Summary

The Compounding Formulation Specialist is responsible for developing and optimizing sterile and nonsterile formulations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and guidelines, and collaborating with teams to advance the formulation pipeline.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or other advanced degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical compounding
  • At least one year of prior experience in a 503A or 503B compounding setting
  • Familiarity with USP <797>, <795>, <800>, and 503A pharmacy requirements
  • Proven knowledge of excipients, buffers, preservatives, and drug stability
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • A demonstrated aptitude for experimental design and execution
  • Proven experience with sterile technique, aseptic processes, and the use of primary engineering controls

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for compounded preparations
  • Experience with advanced dosage forms
  • Previous experience in technology transfer, moving formulations from a laboratory setting to a production environment
