Job Summary
Weigh and make batches using manual or PLC-controlled mixer speeds, durations, and heating/cooling cycles. Transfer processed batches between vessels via manual valves, plumbing, and pumps, utilizing custom wrenches and "pigs" for thorough transfers. Perform cleaning of processing and storage vessels, including scheduled line circuit cleaning with CIP systems. Execute SAP transactions to issue raw materials and report finished batches for QC disposition. Provide batch samples to the QC lab and maintain accurate cleaning logs and batch records. Troubleshoot equipment and processes to maximize filling up time while adhering to all safety rules and reporting issues immediately.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic math skills
- At least two (2) years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to handle all forms of electric pallet jacks and drum hoists
- Ability to connect/disconnect various forms of plumbing to the processing vessels
- Ability to connect/disconnect plumbing at the output of processing vessels
- Ability to connect/disconnect processing aids such as colloid mills
- Ability to use various types of PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Ability to use an overhead hoist system
- Ability to follow requirements necessary to work in a wet, humid environment
- Ability to work in a dusty environment
- Ability to work with corrosive, caustic and acidic chemicals
- Ability to lift 50 lb. load continuously for 1 hour
- Present for work when scheduled
- Compliance to all company safety rules, procedures and guidelines
- Reporting of safety issues
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of personal computers, including Windows and SAP
- Prior experience as a packaging technician
- Previous working knowledge of PLC (programmable logic control) system
