Job Summary
Receive bulk materials, weigh and subdivide ingredients, and load them into automatic equipment to manufacture gelatin and softgel products. Monitor production flow, adjust mix ratios, and maintain sanitary standards by cleaning pumps, receivers, and mixers between batches. Operate drum lifters and forklifts to transport materials, maintain batch records, and package finished goods for shipping. Perform these duties while strictly adhering to safety rules, standard operating procedures, and good manufacturing practices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- 5 years work equivalency
- Forklift certification
- 6 months of manufacturing experience
- Fluent English communication skills
- Manual dexterity
- Accurate basic math skills
- Ability to lift drums weighing up to 600 pounds
- Ability to lift large containers weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to kneel periodically
- Ability to operate a fork lift
- Ability to stand/walk for most of the shift
- Ability to perform repetitive duties for long periods
- Ability to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience as a compounder or blending operator
- A complete working knowledge of the manufacturing procedures for producing gelatin products
