Job Summary

Monitor daily incubator temperatures, weigh and mix compost vessels, and record moisture content, pH, and volatile solids data. Assist in starting trials by preparing feedstock and incubators, then end trials by sieving, cleaning products, and performing routine analyses per ASTM D6400 or ASTM D6868 standards. Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System while reading technical specifications. This student hourly position pays $12.25/hour and may require occasional weekend work. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 GPA and possess strong Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Natural Resources or Paper Science & Chemical Engineering Major
  • Ability to work and learn independently and with team members
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and regularly during the work week
  • Must be detailed orientated
  • Occasional weekend work
  • Knowledge and efficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and efficient use of Adobe Reader
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0
  • Authorization to work within the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of pH, volatile solids, moisture content, and general lab safety procedures
