Compost Assistant Manager - Phase 1

Job Summary
Manage compost quality and inventory while supervising staff and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor raw material quantity and condition, maintain daily records, and attend weekly meetings to drive continuous improvement in waste reduction and labor efficiency. Assist with disciplinary actions, oversee contracted services, and adjust operational settings based on environmental variables. Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while promoting a safe work environment. Requires a valid driver's license, basic mechanical knowledge, and bilingual skills in English/Spanish. Schedule includes rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED minimum
- Bachelor preferred
- Knowledge of basic computer usage and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
- A professional and positive attitude, adaptable to varied and challenging agricultural work environments, strong organizational skills, detail oriented with emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality
- A valid Driver's License
- Must be able to work different shifts, weekends and holidays, if necessary, at discretion of the Phase 1 Manager
Desired Qualifications
- Mushroom Phase 1 composting experience
- Supervisory experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Basic mechanical knowledge regarding front end loaders, gear boxes and speed drives and conveyor systems
- Knowledge of basic computer usage and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
