Job Summary
Perform layup and fabrication of composite parts using wet layup, vacuum bagging, and other composite techniques. Prepare molds and tooling for fabrication, including cleaning, sealing, and applying release agents. Trim, fit, and finish composite components using hand tools and power tools by engineering requirements. Interpret and follow build instructions, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. Identify and report fabrication defects or deviations from design specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety and quality standards. Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to support rapid prototyping and production builds.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Experience in composite part fabrication, including layup, vacuum bagging, curing, and trimming
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, build instructions, and technical specifications
- Familiarity with composite materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, epoxy resins, and core materials
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used for trimming, sanding, and finishing composite parts
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to lift and manipulate medium to large parts and work in a shop environment
