Composites Manager

Directs the production and staff of the composites department and assists in quoting and project development. Works with engineering to ensure designs are transitioned from R&D to volume manufacture, develops investment and cost models, and sets up low-volume production lines with appropriate labor distribution and quality processes. Leads the implementation of a composites production control system for diverse, low-volume manufacturing environments and oversees training of production staff to achieve efficient processes and high quality. Knowledge of hand lay-up, Pre-preg, filament winding, VARTM/RTM, and fiber placement of polymer matrix composites, along with tooling design experience, is preferred. Requires technical writing for proposals, reports, and specifications using MS Word and Excel; strong presentation skills with PowerPoint. Must understand materials and processes used in composite products and related testing techniques. 45-50 hour work week; travel may be required.
