Job Summary
Manufacture high-performance composite parts using prepreg, infusion, and wet/vacuum bag lamination to achieve design specifications. Interpret engineering drawings and ply books while executing moldmaking and toolmaking activities for R&D prototypes. Account for precise mixing and application of epoxy resins, fairing compounds, and industrial coatings, maintaining strict chemical safety and material traceability. Monitor for laminating defects such as voids and delamination, taking action to rework and fair surfaces to ensure adherence to structural quality standards. Manage heavy material moves, including rigging and lifting operations for large-scale hull and wing components, while adhering to established SOPs and safety protocols in an organized environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in composites manufacturing, boatbuilding, aerospace, automotive, or related industries
- Hands-on experience with prepreg, infusion, and wet/vacuum bag lamination techniques
- Proficiency in mixing and applying epoxy resins, fairing compounds, and industrial coatings
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a production environment
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in composite fabrication
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and safely use required PPE
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- High manual dexterity and visual acuity
- Comfort working in challenging settings, including confined spaces, heights, or proximity to water
- Ability to work around industrial materials (dust, fumes, adhesives) while strictly adhering to PPE requirements
