Job Summary
Lead fabrication of complex aerospace-grade composite structures; execute advanced layups and structural builds with minimal supervision; perform advanced vacuum bagging and cure cycle operations; identify scarf back plies and perform structural repairs; troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and support root cause analysis; interpret complex engineering drawings and work instructions; ensure AS9100 material handling compliance; mentor and support development of junior technicians; drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency; support engineering in tooling and manufacturability discussions; maintain shop organization and PPE compliance. Requires 5+ years of composite manufacturing experience (aerospace preferred) and proficiency with pneumatic and power tools, precision measurement equipment; knowledge of AS9100 or similarly regulated environment; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of composite manufacturing experience (aerospace preferred)
- Advanced expertise in layup, bonding, and cure processes
- Demonstrated ability to build flight-critical or high-complexity hardware
- Strong mechanical aptitude and meticulous craftsmanship
- Proficient with pneumatic tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment
- Experience in AS9100 or similarly regulated environment
- Proven ability to mentor junior team members
