Job Summary
Inspect incoming goods and measure parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines. Visually examine components for fissures, porosity, and surface finish issues while verifying fastener locations and calculating test results. Accept or reject parts based on conformance to specifications, documenting non-conforming characteristics and preparing disposition records for rework. Liaise with production personnel to coordinate the inspection process and report defective material conditions to the supervisor. Maintain a clean work area and follow established work instructions and procedures throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or high school equivalency
- Ability to use precision measurement equipment such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Basic mechanical skills
- Knowledge of metric system
- Basic to Intermediate computer skills particularly MS Office
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Confidence in decision making
- High concentration skills
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Employment eligibility verification
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years in a manufacturing environment, in an inspection role
- CMM measuring equipment experience
- Experience with non-conformity tracking
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
