Job Summary
Senior Components Engineer responsible for aerospace electronic parts design, development, testing, selection, and reliability planning for spaceflight projects. Focus areas include COTS parts in high reliability applications, RF, magnetics, photonics, VLSI microelectronics, and passives, with oversight of flight electronic parts requirements, drawings, and risk assessments. Role involves interfacing with project managers, element managers, and mission assurance, leading part selection and testing activities, ensuring reliability while balancing cost and schedule, and contributing to development methodologies and processes. Remote work option available with a 9/80 schedule; some travel and background checks are required.
Required Qualifications
- Requires bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, materials science/engineering, applied mathematics or related technical discipline
- Requires 12+ years of experience in components and parts engineering activities
- Experience in RF parts, hybrid parts, magnetics, photonics, VLSI microelectronics, or passives parts for high reliability spaceflight applications
- Experience with development and application of COTS parts in high reliability projects and systems/subsystems
- Professional experience with EEEE parts and supporting Mil-STDs
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage design/engineering processes
- Strong computer skills including CAD/CAE tools and Microsoft Office
