Component Repair Technician (Welding)

Job Summary

Set up and weld high temperature alloys in turbine engine component repair using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) in full compliance with repair manual requirements. Perform manual and laser welds across various configurations, apply necessary gas back-up and chilled bars, and refine welding parameters for quality parts. Identify and replace worn fixture/tooling while conducting scheduled maintenance and housekeeping tasks. You will consistently sit and pass periodic welder proficiency tests by internal and external CAAS standards. Minimum GCE 'O' level with three years of relevant TIG welding experience required; NITEC certification preferred. This role supports GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore's global repair volume within their advanced manufacturing facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum GCE 'O' level
  • 3 years of relevant experience in TIG Welding
  • Able to read and understand the manufacturing operation sheets and standard operation procedures in English

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferably NITEC/Higher NITEC in welding
  • Relevant TIG certificates
  • Preferably CAAS approval in TIG Welding/General Welding or equivalent
  • Knowledge of measuring instrument, TIG Welding
  • Must be able to fully comprehend process parameters and consistently produce good quality parts
  • Ability to read & understand technical drawings/instructions
  • A team player
