Job Summary
Inspect fabricated parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies using various measuring tools like calipers, torque wrenches, and special gages. Record abnormalities on checklists, DPU reports, and non-conforming material reports while communicating defects to assembly teams and engineers. Perform data entry for spreadsheets and specific report documentation, maintaining accurate records and supporting departmental team members on short notice. Work independently in a manufacturing environment with frequent standing, walking, and lifting items up to 40 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience inspecting in a manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Basic understanding of Metrology
- MS Outlook skills
- Ability to use shop math
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings for fabricated parts, mechanical assemblies and specials
- Ability to use basic dimensional measuring tools (mics, calipers, height gage, pins gages, threaded gages, measuring tape)
- Ability to use a resistance meter
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to support departmental team members on short notice
- Ability to change your start times on short notice as needed
- Ability to work independently in a service-oriented environment
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to use a pallet jack and ladder safely
- Ability to inspect from elevated heights when necessary
- Willingness to learn software such as Oracle, Compliance Quest (QMS), Wriker, and SmarTeam
- Ability to navigate to E-Docs and Operating System Documents on SharePoint or E-Vault
- Standing: Most tasks performed in a standing position with frequent walking
- Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 1⁄4 to 40 lbs
- Walking: Frequent walking short distances (total one to two miles)
- Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 1⁄4 to 40 lbs
- Pushing: Frequent use of cart to transport material
- Pulling: Frequent use of cart to transport material
- Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required
- Reaching: Occasional full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees
- Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in size from 1⁄4 to 40 lbs
