Job Summary

Evaluate component specifications against design requirements to ensure parts meet environmental, performance, and regulatory standards for aerospace and rugged computing systems. Monitor end-of-life notices and execute mitigation strategies by identifying alternative parts or facilitating lifetime buys. Collaborate with sourcing and purchasing teams to identify qualified suppliers, review manufacturing change notices, and resolve technical challenges with vendors. Maintain the component database, internal part number systems, and technical documentation for all qualified components. This role bridges design engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing to ensure electronic and mechanical parts meet strict reliability criteria.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering from an accredited university
  • Five to ten years of dedicated experience in component engineering, hardware design support, or a closely related electronics manufacturing field
  • Direct experience in the aerospace industry, including familiarity with standards such as AS9100 and DO-254

Desired Qualifications

  • A strong background with ruggedized computing systems designed to withstand extreme vibration, thermal shock, and harsh environments
