Job Summary
Component and Failure Analysis Engineer II-III analyzes failures and construction of aerospace/electronic components and assemblies using advanced diagnostic tools. Performs tests/imaging to assess component integrity and compliance to specifications; prepares concise reports for internal and external customers. Responsibilities include component-level analyses of Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical parts, using tools such as electrical test equipment, temperature chambers, X-Ray Imaging, Optical Imaging, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy, and X-Ray Fluorescence; collaborating in a team environment; and adhering to ITAR/compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS in Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical area
- 2+ years component-level analysis experience for Engineer II or 5+ years for Engineer III
- Experience with electrical test equipment, X-Ray Imaging, Optical Imaging, Scanning Electron Microscopy, EDS/SEM-EDS, X-Ray Fluorescence
- Ability to develop new applications for existing tools and to determine best options for failure analysis
- Ability to prepare clear analysis reports for internal/external customers
