Job Summary
Greet and seat guests, service food and beverage requirements, and answer telephone inquiries with a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor. Maintain high standards of personal appearance, ensure quality control of menus, and keep bar areas stocked, organized, and clean. Clear and reset tables, support all beverage and food service areas including dishwashing and restocking, and perform opening and closing procedures per station rotation. Accommodate special guest requests, communicate regarding in-house VIPs, and carry out cashiering functions for closing checks. Work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays while complying with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings nights weekends and holidays
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must satisfactorily pass responsible serving course such as TIPs
- Must be able to obtain and provide Food Handlers card
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner
- Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation service standards guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to produce high quality drinks including but not limited to specialty coffee and tea drinks specialty cocktails and beverage requests as required by hotel
- Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting adding subtracting multiplying and dividing
- Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff some of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy
