Job Summary

Greet, seat, and service guests in the complimentary breakfast area with a warm, friendly, and courteous manner. Maintain high standards of personal appearance, ensure quality control of menus, and clear, clean, and reset tables per client requests. Stock, organize, and keep bar food and service areas neat while completing side work such as sweeping, mopping, and restocking equipment. Handle cashiering functions, answer telephone inquiries, and respond to guest special requests or offer appropriate alternatives. Perform opening and closing procedures, rotate through stations as assigned, and communicate with departments regarding VIPs and special needs. Work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, complying with Aimbridge Hospitality standards for attendance and safety.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Must satisfactorily pass responsible serving course such as TIPs as required by property
  • Must be able to obtain and provide Food Handlers card as required by city/county/state
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a desire to be of service to others
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and information
  • Ability to provide back-up and support to other team members
  • Ability to respond to guests and co-workers in a positive and optimistic manner
  • Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • Ability to produce high quality drinks including but not limited to specialty coffee and tea drinks, specialty cocktails, and beverage requests as required by hotel
  • Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a hotel or a related field
