Job Summary
Compliance Specialist responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA) and NAID standards. Duties include monitoring regulatory changes, updating policies, conducting audits, collaborating across departments to embed compliance into operations, providing employee training, investigating and resolving compliance incidents, maintaining records of audits and trainings, assisting with regulatory reports, and staying informed on industry best practices in compliance and risk management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Legal Studies, Information Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the records and information management industry
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations related to information privacy and security (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA)
- Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines, such as NAID and ISO 27001
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise guidance
