Job Summary

Support Cumberland Island National Seashore compliance activities related to archaeological, historical, and traditional cultural properties by providing authoritative recommendations on structuring and managing NHPA/CRM compliance work for graveyards, seawalls, historic structures, debris removal, and trails. Assist with developing Programmatic Agreements with the State Historic Preservation Officer and review NEPA analysis and cultural resource reports prepared by third parties. Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and develop the minimum requirement analysis framework for Wilderness projects. This 20-hour weekly position involves up to 480 total hours of work, including occasional overnight and air travel trips. Applicants must have 20 years of experience in Federal Cultural Resources Compliance or a relevant degree with additional experience.

  • Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Federal Cultural Resources Compliance
  • MA/MS Degree in Archeology with minimum additional experience of 15 year(s) in Federal Cultural Resources Compliance
  • Project management
  • historical architecture
  • experience with Secretary of Interior?s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties
  • Experience required with Windows
  • Experience required with MS Word
  • Experience required with MS Teams
  • Experience required with MS Outlook
  • Experience required with MS SharePoint
  • Experience required with Adobe Acrobat
  • Overnight travel: 1-3 overnight trips may be required
