Compliance Specialist - MN

Job Summary

Prepare environmental permit applications and supporting calculations for State and Federal requirements. Develop compliance reports, plans, and emission inventories in accordance with applicable regulations. Conduct or support regulatory compliance audits to meet client internal needs. Communicate with State and Federal agencies regarding permit preparation, regulatory interpretation, and emerging regulations. Provide training for client staff on permit requirements and plans. Travel to client sites and industrial facilities for field work as needed. Complete required safety and technical training.

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related scientific degree

  • Ability and willingness to travel for field work or work at client sites
  • Completion of required safety training
  • Completion of technical training
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day
  • Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses)
  • Ability to work in out-of-office locations that may feature terrain typical of construction sites
  • Ability to enter and work within industrial facilities
  • An OSHA-mandated physical exam
  • Full-time exempt position
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work

Desired Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of environmental consulting or similar service industry experience preferred
  • Interest in advancing to Project Manager/Client Manager preferred
