Job Summary

Compliance Specialist for Dangerous Goods overseeing safe handling, storage, and global distribution of lithium batteries. Responsible for regulatory compliance across DG regulations (UN codes, IATA, IMDG, DOT), prepares/validates dangerous goods documentation (Shipper’s Declarations, IMO declarations, Bills of Lading), monitors regulatory changes, and ensures 100% multi-modal DG compliance (air, ocean, road). Roles includes designing storage zones for lithium batteries, implementing segregation and DDR processes, conducting audits of packaging, labeling, and racking, and delivering DG awareness training to warehouse staff. Requires heavy attention to detail, ability to travel, and expert knowledge of DG packaging, labeling, and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business or related field or 5 years of experience in logistics focusing on dangerous goods materials
  • IATA DGR Certification (current)
  • IMDG Code Certification (current)
  • 49 CFR / DOT Hazmat knowledge (current)
  • Minimum 5 years in logistics/warehouse focused on lithium battery storage and distribution
  • Proficiency with UN 38.3 Testing Summaries and SDS interpretation
