Compliance Specialist - Affordable Housing

Job Summary
Compliance Specialist to oversee and ensure compliance across an affordable housing portfolio. Responsibilities include reviewing resident files for accurate certifications, monitoring adherence to HUD, LIHTC, RD, HOME, and other program requirements, preparing for state agency and investor audits, interpreting evolving regulations, maintaining data in OneSite, supporting reporting obligations, identifying compliance risks, and training property teams on best practices. Strong attention to detail, ethical standards, clear communication, and collaborative cross-department work are essential; proficiency with property management systems and knowledge of affordable housing programs are required. Certifications such as HCCP or COS are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with affordable housing compliance processes (HUD, LIHTC, HOME, RD, CDBG)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex requirements for on-site teams
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Familiarity with resident file review, certifications, and audit preparedness
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to interpret evolving regulations
- HCCP and/or COS certifications are a plus
