Job Summary
Compliance Specialist supports SouthEast Bank’s risk management and regulatory compliance program by ensuring adherence to applicable state and federal requirements, developing and implementing a Compliance Management Program, and serving as an internal resource on regulatory changes. Responsibilities include coordinating quarterly compliance reviews, generating written reports, updating policies and disclosures for regulatory changes, guiding managers on compliance responsibilities, monitoring regulatory bulletins, and collaborating with the team to remediate identified weaknesses. Skills emphasized include organizational and communication abilities, collaboration, policy interpretation, bilingual communication (English and Spanish desirable), and the ability to train staff and ensure confidentiality. The role is hybrid (in-office and remote) within the SouthEast Bank footprint.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years' experience in a comparable compliance position (monitoring, transaction review, and identifying weaknesses in controls)
- Designation as CRCM or eligibility to obtain the certificate within 2 years
- Strong knowledge of federal banking regulations including HMDA, Flood, TILA, TRID, RESPA, SAFE Act, TISA, FCRA, EFT, Funds Availability and UDAAP
- Ability to read and interpret regulatory documents and policies; ability to communicate findings and provide guidance to management
