Job Summary
Environmental Compliance Project Manager for AES Central Region overseeing environmental compliance during renewable project construction. Develop environmental compliance programs covering local, state, and federal permitting; manage field audits, reporting, and monitoring; review technical reports and ensure permit-condition compliance; collaborate with EPCs and contractors to ensure project compliance; support permitting and diligence with legal and finance teams; coordinate with agencies and stakeholders; mentor junior staff and provide training materials. Partial office/field-based role with travel about 30% of the time. Requires 4–8 years of project management experience in multi-disciplinary environmental compliance projects; Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering or Environmental Science; strong knowledge of NEPA, USACE, CWA, DOT, SPCC, water quality, stormwater, air quality, endangered species, and historical resources; proficient in MS Office and geospatial tools; excellent communication and leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- 4-8 years of project management experience with multi-disciplinary environmental compliance projects
- preferred experience in the renewables industry
- knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulatory agency laws, regulations, and permitting requirements
- experience in environmental auditing and regulatory audits
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred)
- advanced computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and geospatial software
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- strong leadership and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- ability to travel up to 30% and lift up to 25 lbs
