Compliance Officer

Job Summary

Lead the development and administration of Waterfall Community Health Center's organization-wide Corporate Compliance Program, advising the CEO and Board on compliance risks, investigations, and corrective actions. Monitor adherence to federal and state laws, HRSA Health Center Program requirements, and FTCA obligations while coordinating with legal counsel and cross-functional leaders. Conduct fair, timely investigations of suspected violations, establish reporting mechanisms, and develop risk-reduction strategies to mitigate organizational vulnerabilities. Prepare for and respond to HRSA site visits, grant reviews, and audits by collecting documents and developing responses. Oversee compliance education programs and provide practical guidance to foster a culture of integrity across the workforce.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, accounting, finance, law, clinical services, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible healthcare compliance, auditing, risk management, legal, financial, or healthcare operations experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Insurance coverage
  • TB test upon hire
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to travel as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Juris Doctor
  • Seven or more years of progressively responsible healthcare compliance, auditing, risk management, legal, financial, or healthcare operations experience
  • Prior experience in an FQHC, community health center, or other highly regulated healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing or administering a compliance program, conducting investigations, coordinating audits, and implementing corrective action plans
  • Experience with HRSA requirements, FTCA risk management, federal grants, Medicare, Medicaid, or healthcare billing compliance
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and a Board of Directors
  • Healthcare compliance certification, such as Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), or comparable credential
  • Willingness to obtain a healthcare compliance certification within an agreed timeframe
