Job Summary
The Compliance Officer participates on a team of risk evaluation and assurance professionals in the Second Line of Defense, conducting risk-based monitoring, testing, analysis, and reporting to ensure adherence to banking and consumer regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing policies for regulatory alignment, identifying control gaps, advising on process improvements, developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, and mentoring junior analysts. The role requires independent work in a regulatory environment, staying current on regulatory changes, and leading cross-functional compliance projects. Travel is occasional; the role is Hybrid with in-office and remote work blended. Core competencies include data analysis, regulatory knowledge, clear reporting, and the ability to communicate risks to diverse audiences, aligning with KeyBank’s policies and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, auditing, or related fields
- Relevant certifications in compliance, auditing, or risk management
- Understanding and applying laws and regulations relevant to banking and consumer finance
- Evaluating potential risks and identifying control gaps in processes and systems
- Documenting findings and communicating risks through clear, concise reports
- Leading compliance-related projects and mentoring junior analysts
