Job Summary
Develop and implement EMS quality assurance programs in collaboration with the EMS Medical Director and Chief of EMS. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, protocols, and patient care standards while monitoring patient care reports and overseeing documentation quality and HIPAA compliance. Investigate patient care complaints, recommend training initiatives, and supervise the EMS Quality Assurance Analyst for hiring, training, and performance management. Approve timesheets, leave requests, and personnel forms while coordinating research projects and quality improvement activities. Requires a current Texas Paramedic or Registered Nurse with leadership experience; ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in science, arts, or a related field
- Current Texas Paramedic
- at least five (5) years of EMS operations experience
- three (3) years in a leadership role overseeing an EMS team
- no unresolved DSHS complaints
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN)
- at least four (4) years of full-time emergency care experience
- active Texas RN license
- Experience managing an EMS quality assurance program
- Experience coordinating EMS training programs
- Knowledge of EMS protocols
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of state laws
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory driving record
- Ability to work evenings
- Ability to work weekends
- Must meet immunization requirements
- Must meet background check requirements
- Must meet drug/alcohol screening requirements
