Job Summary

Compliance Officer responsible for ensuring the Gaming Operation is regulated to protect patrons, employees, and assets. Key duties include reviewing marketing promotions for regulatory compliance, maintaining patron exclusion lists, completing facility licensing processes, reviewing procedures for compliance, performing investigations into suspected regulatory infractions, creating checklists for compliance reviews across departments (Promotions, Sports Wagering, Environmental Public Health and Safety, Operations Training, Financial Reviews), monitoring the gaming floor for regulatory adherence, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires strong analytical, investigative, and reporting abilities; able to work independently in a regulated environment; knowledge of tribal gaming regulations, internal controls, and surveillance procedures; proficiency with MS Office; shift work including weekends and on-call as needed. Indian preference applies.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in regulatory compliance within a gaming or highly regulated environment.
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Catawba Gaming Commission license.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must undergo a Criminal Background Investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license as required by the Catawba Nation Gaming Commission.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in criminal justice, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Must obtain and maintain a Catawba Gaming Commission license
  • High School Diploma is required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Experience in regulatory compliance within a gaming or highly regulated environment (minimum 2 years)
  • Knowledge of NIGC Internal controls, Tribal-State Compact, tribal gaming regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
