Compliance Officer

Job Summary

Execute risk-based compliance testing and monitoring across consumer, deposit, lending, and operations areas while maintaining schedules, workpapers, and exception tracking. Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in administering the Compliance Management System, including policy updates, regulatory change tracking, and implementation support. Support governance activities through committee reporting, risk assessments, and issue tracking, while coordinating responses to internal and external audits and regulatory examinations. Partner with business units to provide compliance guidance on products and controls, and facilitate training and communications as needed. Maintain organized records to ensure audit readiness and support corrective actions for identified issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Ten years to fifteen years of similar or related experience
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree)
  • Working knowledge of consumer compliance laws and regulations applicable to community banking operations
  • Experience with compliance testing, monitoring, issue tracking, and support for audits or regulatory examinations
  • Strong understanding of compliance risk management, monitoring, testing methodologies, and internal control concepts
  • Ability to analyze regulatory requirements and apply them in a practical community bank operating environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise reports and present information clearly to management
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated judgment, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CRCM, CCBCO, or a similar designation
