Job Summary
Ensure the bank's compliance with all federal and state laws pertaining to lending and deposits by creating, reviewing, and maintaining policies and procedures. Manage the compliance program, including complaint management, policy review, and regulatory exam preparation, while conducting regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities. Supervise the Bank Secrecy Act Officer, Loan Audit Specialist, and Compliance/Fraud Specialist, and interpret regulatory updates to disseminate information to staff. Provide training and guidance on compliance matters, coordinate with legal counsel on new products, and ensure accurate HMDA reporting submission. Participate in key committees such as Enterprise Risk Management and Audit/Legal/Compliance. Maintain professional expertise through seminars and workshops. Full-time role with periodic travel and occasional overnight business required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in banking compliance (community banking preferred)
- Strong knowledge of regulatory matters and industry trends in lending and deposit compliance
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong ethical focus and attention to detail
- Ability to lead with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
- Periodic travel between offices and occasional overnight business travel may be required
- Normal business hours with some evening or weekend work as needed
- Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment
- Serve as a representative of the organization at appropriate functions
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation preferred
