Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Compliance Department, ensuring timely processing of affordable housing certifications and adherence to federal, state, investor, and agency requirements. Supervise and coach Compliance Specialists and Senior Compliance Specialists through regular one-on-ones, performance evaluations, and workload balancing while supporting recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives. Manage complex compliance scenarios, including initial certifications, annual recertifications, and unit transfers, ensuring all files meet quality standards before approval and escalating high-risk issues to the Director of Compliance. Partner with Operations, Leasing, Asset Management, and accounting to support occupancy goals and drive continuous improvement in departmental processes and workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of LIHTC regulations and affordable housing compliance
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate them effectively
- Outstanding organizational and project management abilities
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Experience interpreting federal, state, and investor regulations
- Alignment with Roers Companies' core values
- High School Diploma or GED
- Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM), or equivalent designation
- Experience managing a centralized compliance department

- Experience with Rent Café Affordable Housing (RCAH)
