Job Summary
Compliance Manager role sits at the intersection of regulatory expertise and strategic compliance for Athletic Brewing. The role acts as an internal authority on TTB, FDA, FTC, state/ABC regulations for beer and non-alcoholic beverages; provides proactive guidance to Marketing and Innovation from concept through launch; reviews and approves labels, packaging, promotional materials, and claims; advises on TTB COLA submissions; maintains tracking systems for label approvals; ensures substantiation of marketing claims; interprets legal agreements for marketing compliance; guides Sales on state regulatory nuances; manages trademark clearance and copyright considerations; conducts regulatory risk research and communicates actionable guidance; collaborates across Marketing, Legal, and Sales; supports nutrition and ingredient disclosures and brand protection efforts; in Milford, CT, in-office 4 days a week, with salary range $95,000–$125,000 and performance bonuses. This role requires strong regulatory thinking, detail orientation, and the ability to translate complex regulations into practical business guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Law, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in food & beverage labeling and marketing compliance
- Experience in beer, non-alcoholic beer, beverage alcohol, or emerging NA beverage categories
- Deep working knowledge of TTB regulations, FDA labeling, FTC advertising standards
- Demonstrated experience leading compliance review processes in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interpret legal advice and implement brand protection processes
