Compliance Lead - Canada

Wise is seeking a Senior Regulatory Compliance Lead for Canada to lead the Canadian regulatory and FinCrime compliance programs within the North America Regulatory Oversight Compliance team. You will act as the primary liaison for Canadian regulators (Bank of Canada, FINTRAC, CIRO) and banking partners, lead horizon scanning for upcoming regulatory changes, and advise product teams on impact to Wise's roadmap. You will develop, implement, and maintain 2LoD policies and procedures for regulatory and FinCrime requirements in Canada, overseeing KYC, EDD, and transaction monitoring controls. You will collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure features are compliant by design, oversee regular monitoring and testing of controls, manage internal audits, track remediation plans, and provide reporting to the Board on the health of the Canadian compliance program. The role requires knowledge of money transmission, prepaid accounts, Canadian consumer compliance regulations, FinCrime regulations, and strong cross-functional collaboration, with comfort in a fast-paced tech-enabled financial services environment; travel is required.
