Compliance & Ethics Counsel Manager

Job Summary
Develop and deliver trade compliance training, policies, and internal controls to support Accenture's adherence to international trade regulations across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. Draft communications, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with Export Control Officers to mitigate trade-related risks and manage internal audits. Provide practical legal advice on trade/export laws, company ethics codes, and policy implementation while working with senior management and outside counsel. Respond to government inquiries and localize training on export law issues as a subject matter expert under senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate degree (or comparable legal Master's degree)
- Admitted lawyer
- 3–5+ years' experience as a lawyer focused on trade compliance law
- Demonstrated knowledge of international trade controls and trade/export regulatory systems around the world, including U.S. export controls
- Experience supporting compliance programs, including preparing policies and internal controls
- Experience developing and conducting training
- Experience responding to government inquiries
- Experience drafting and reviewing contracts
- Ability to prioritize tasks and synthesize complex legal analysis into clear, practical recommendations
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface, and develop relationships, with all levels of management and staff, and work cross-culturally
- Confidence and credibility in dealing with internal management and personnel at client and peer companies
- Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to articulate company vision and policy, and to seek out areas of risk and priority
- Strong writing and negotiation skills
- Ability to consistently apply good judgment and prioritize
- Adapts nimbly to changing needs within the business
- Fluent in English
- Must have ability to effectively work with others remotely
- Must have ability to manage a schedule with global clients
- Must have ability to engage in contract negotiation
- Limited travel required as needed (usually <10%)
