Compliance, Employment & Litigation Counsel

Job Summary

Develop policies and procedures for ethics, export control, and anti-corruption; conduct internal investigations and oversee compliance hotline monitoring. Advise the People Team and business partners on hiring, performance management, accommodations, leaves, and terminations while supporting workforce planning and restructurings. Manage employment claims, demand letters, arbitrations, and litigation matters including vendor disputes, intellectual property, and privacy issues. Draft employment agreements, monitor emerging legal developments, and develop scalable processes to reduce litigation risk. Collaborate with internal and external partners to assess risk and provide practical recommendations for dispute resolution strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law
  • 4-7 years of experience, including significant compliance, employment and/or litigation experience
  • Strong judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • A problem-solving mentality, willing to make a call and be an active decision maker
  • Orientation towards process and operations, and ability to spot and act on improvements to systems, standards, templates, policies and practices that help reduce risk, remove friction, and propel the business
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to work across time zones as needed
  • some travel may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong preference for prior in-house experience
  • Experience supporting a high-growth technology or SaaS company
  • Experience advising on employment matters outside of the US
  • Experience handling commercial disputes, contract disputes, vendor disputes, intellectual property matters, privacy-related disputes, or bankruptcy matters
  • Understanding and experience handling complex e-discovery issues
