Job Summary
Lead compliance initiatives for Canada Retirement by interpreting pension and investment legislation across Canada, applying rules to business inquiries and projects, and identifying risks and controls. Review contracts, marketing materials, RFPs, and regulatory documentation to ensure adherence to policy, while developing legislative tools and internal policies to guide business partners. Provide subject matter expertise on technical legislative requirements, respond to complex regulatory inquiries, and deliver training on compliance management concepts. Assist with reporting and facilitate implementation of regulatory changes within a hybrid environment.
Required Qualifications
- Compliance for a minimum of 3-5 years
- Life insurance industry and pension related products
- Understanding complex regulatory requirements and their application to business products and initiatives
- Regulatory compliance management and issues management
- Providing compliance support on technical inquiries and questions, projects, and other initiatives, including identifying risks, controls, and possible solutions to mitigate risks
- Ability to think critically through complex problems and scenarios
- Working independently in a small team environment
- Working in an agile environment and providing guidance based on quick turnaround times
- Contractual reviews and developing and/or amending contractual templates
- Detailed legislative analysis, interpretation, and implementation
