Job Summary
Compliance & Classification Manager leads the U.S. Compliance and Classification consulting practice for a key client, driving growth and efficiency through tools, automation, and process improvement while ensuring compliance with import rules and regulations. Remote position based in the United States for candidates from certain states. Monitor regulatory changes and update department policies; partner with senior management on new business opportunities and regulatory impact; identify customer opportunities across HS classification, FTAs, duty drawback, and audits; drive continuous improvement initiatives partnering with IT to automate department processes; analyze data and create detailed reports and documentation; deliver client seminars, workshops, and presentations on customs and trade issues; develop account setup procedures with Operations to ensure compliance with CBP regulations; manage complex consulting engagements to deliver customer satisfaction; establish customer service policies to ensure consistency and quality; lead and develop the Compliance and Consulting team building best in class practices; travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed US Customs Broker (LCB) required
- CCS or CES a plus
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in compliance and consulting roles
- Strong knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Explanatory Notes, and rules of origin
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access with data manipulation skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Demonstrated ability to sell, deliver, and lead consulting engagements
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
