Job Summary
Conduct onsite and remote compliance support for affordable housing communities participating in LIHTC, HOME, and HTF programs. Assist Property Managers and applicants with certification processes by verifying income, assets, and eligibility while collecting required documentation. Complete and review initial, annual, and interim certifications, ensuring accuracy within required deadlines. Mentor onsite teams on compliance requirements and certification procedures, and perform quality control reviews and internal file audits. Collaborate with the Compliance Department to develop standardized procedures and prepare communities for external agency, syndicator, lender, and investor audits. Maintain organized resident files and research regulatory updates to communicate changes to the team. This role requires regular regional travel with an evening return home, a valid driver's license, and experience with affordable housing compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with affordable housing compliance, preferably in LIHTC, HOME, and/or HTF programs
- Strong understanding of income calculations, asset verification, and eligibility requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret and apply federal and state affordable housing regulations
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to educate and support onsite teams
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Regular travel to communities throughout the portfolio to provide onsite compliance support
