Job Summary
Conduct onsite walkthroughs with small businesses to provide one-on-one guidance on City, State, and Federal compliance requirements. Describe the regulatory inspection process, explain actions to eliminate noncompliance conditions, and outline adjudication processes for violations. Document key findings from consultations and follow up with business owners for additional clarification or support. Proactively identify entrepreneurs at early stages of business development to provide regulatory guidance before licensing applications are submitted. Present agency services via phone, email, meetings, and outreach events while supporting pipeline development through community partnerships and referrals. Ensure Key Performance Indicators and program goals are met by accurately entering data in SBS CRM software and maintaining status reports on inspection activities and operational efficiencies. Report KPIs regularly to Executive-level staff through dashboards, reports, and presentations.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above
- At least one year of experience as described in 1 above
- New York City residency within 90 days of appointment
- Eligibility to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County (for City Employees with 2 continuous years of City service)
- Ability to travel around the 5 boroughs of NYC
- On-site engagements as needed
- Availability for evening and weekend events
