Job Summary
Solicit, negotiate, and confirm new and repeat business through direct sales calls, site visits, and trade shows to maximize revenue and meet budgeted goals. Fully qualify business potential, design tailored proposals, and lead communication efforts including contracts and site inspections while collaborating with the Director of Sales & Marketing on quarterly action plans. Respond to all leads within 1-4 hours, document sales activities in the property system, and ensure guest payments and deposits are submitted to accounting. Research market trends, assess competitor pricing, and coach the hotel team to maintain consistent selling momentum. Occasional travel required; weekends and holidays may be needed due to industry cycles.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years hotel sales experience
- Preference given to candidates with brand sales certifications
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language
- Ability to accurately report information
- Ability to assist with various accounting department tasks
- Report to work on time
- Must be in professional attire
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs
- Must be able to read newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals
- Must be able to write business letters, summaries and reports
- Must be able to participate effectively in discussions and debates
- Must be able to speak extemporaneously on a variety of subjects
- Must be able to timely obtain any required licenses or certifications
- Occasional travel required
- Must be able to work varying schedules to include weekends and holidays
- Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must pass a background check
