Complex Safety Manager (Poultry Industry)

Job Summary
Manage safety & health programs in the poultry industry, ensuring prevention of injuries, illness, and property loss. Oversee regulatory requirements to prevent citations and penalties; manage medical and workers' compensation activities; ensure documentation (certificate of insurance, safety training, OSHA logs); facilitate and attend Executive Safety Committee, Joint Safety/Ergonomic Committee, and other meetings; analyze and submit data for Monthly DART Rate; monitor and administer safety programs (Lock out/Tag Out, Confined Space/Ergonomic, Hot Work/Industrial Hygiene, etc.); conduct monthly safety inspections and audits; assist with accident investigations; perform all other relevant tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline
- 7+ years of relevant safety management experience (preferably in poultry industry)
- Technical knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Certification as Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, Worker's Compensation, etc.)
- Proficient technology and computer skills
