Complex Safety Manager (Poultry Industry)

Job Summary
Manage safety and health programs for a poultry-industry site, ensuring prevention of injuries, illnesses, and property loss; oversee regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT, workers' compensation), documentation (OSHA logs, safety training, certificates of insurance), and safety-related data including Monthly DART Rate; facilitate and participate in Executive Safety Committee and Joint Safety/Ergonomic Committee meetings; monitor and administer safety programs (Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space/Ergonomic, Hot Work, Industrial Hygiene); conduct monthly safety inspections and audits; assist with accident investigations; requires a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of safety management experience with strong communication skills and CSP preferred; familiarity with ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems; strong regulatory knowledge and computer proficiency; position includes benefits and opportunities for career advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or closely related discipline
- 7+ years relevant safety management experience, preferably within poultry industry
- Technical knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, Worker's Compensation)
- Proficient technology and computer skills
- Certification as Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
