Job Summary
Lead and manage safety and health programs in a poultry manufacturing setting, ensuring regulatory compliance, incident prevention, and program effectiveness. Responsibilities include managing OSHA regulatory requirements, conducting monthly safety inspections and audits, facilitating Executive Safety Committee and Safety/Ergonomic Committee meetings, analyzing data for the Monthly DART Rate report, overseeing and administering safety initiatives (LOTO, Confined Space, Ergonomics, Hot Work, Industrial Hygiene), assisting with accident investigations, and maintaining essential documentation (certificates of insurance, training records, OSHA logs). Requires a Bachelor’s degree in EH&S or related field, 7+ years of safety management experience in poultry preferred, OSHA knowledge, CSP preferred, and strong communication/public speaking skills. Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems, regulatory requirements, and proficiency with safety-related software/tools. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree preferably in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or closely related discipline
- 7+ years relevant safety management experience, preferably within poultry industry
- Technical knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Certification as Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, Worker's Compensation, etc.)
- Proficient technology and computer skills
