Job Summary
Support school administration to expand access to care through on-site clinics and telehealth, establish safety protocols for infectious disease, and coordinate with community partners to connect students with primary and specialty providers. Provide education to staff, students, and families while working closely with teachers, administrators, and the Hawaii Keiki team to carry out school health activities. Maintain professional clinical practice promoting the health and academic success of school-age children. Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, current unrestricted RN license in Hawaii, and one year of experience in community-based, school, or pediatric nursing. Full-time Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, for a 10-month term following the HIDOE schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- BLS for healthcare provider certification
- Experience with the use of electronic health records and program reporting
- Possession of a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Hawaii; or ability to sit for NCLEX exam within 180 days of graduation, in accordance with Executive Order 20-04
- One year of experience in community-based health settings, school nursing, or pediatric nursing
- Knowledge of HIPAA rules, regulations, and compliance
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations for blood borne pathogens
