Job Summary
Support school administration to expand access to care through on-site clinic and telehealth services, establish infectious disease safety protocols, and coordinate with community partners to connect students with primary and specialty providers. Provide education to school staff, students, and families while working closely with teachers, administrators, and the Hawaii Keiki team to promote the health and academic success of school-age children. Assist the school health assistant in carrying out a wide range of school health activities, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Full-time Mon-Fri 7:30am - 4:00pm for 10 months.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- BLS for healthcare provider certification
- Experience with the use of electronic health records and program reporting
- Possession of a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Hawaii; or ability to sit for NCLEX exam within 180 days of graduation, in accordance with Executive Order 20-04
- One year of experience in community-based health settings, school nursing, or pediatric nursing; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated
- Knowledge of HIPAA rules, regulations, and compliance
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations for blood borne pathogens
